About Me
Hi, my name is Clauco Garofalo. The name Permacarpenter comes from my love and dedication
to both permaculture design and woodworking. I am a finish carpenter and do everything
from custom cabinetry to windows and doors, to unique, one-of-a-kind furniture pieces and
gifts. I am originally from the island of Capri in Southern Italy where I was born and
raised, steeped in beauty and an appreciation of quality craftsmanship. I moved to Canada
as a young adult where I ran my own successful business as a contractor and builder.
After 10 years in Canada, my family and I moved to the jungle of Belize where we created
a boutique, off-grid retreat center based on permaculture design principles called Sattva
Land. I now live in Vermont with my wife and son. My devotion to my craft stems from an
intense satisfaction that I derive from turning concept into reality. I created The
Permacarpenter in 2014 as a platform to showcase and sell quality, handmade products and
to help people bring their own visions to life. Sometimes in today's modern world we can
forget the beauty in the natural, beautiful, and handmade. Get in touch to start your
project today!
